This past Saturday and Sunday, June 13 & 14, Barnes & Noble sponsored a book fair-reading event for G.L.A.W.S. (Greater Los Angeles Writers Society) at the Los Angeles Barnes & Noble store at The Grove Shopping Center. Thanks to all for your efforts, particularly the planners at B&N & G.L.A.W.S.

Today, I received an email from Ray Bradbury and his daughter booking him to speak in the Ray Bradbury Room at the Palms-Rancho Park Library on Overland in West Los Angeles on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 3:30p. The event will be co-sponsored by the Rancho Palms Library and G.L.A.W.S (The Greater Los Angeles Writers’ Group).
Mr. Bradbury will read from his new book WE’LL ALWAYS HAVE PARIS. Afterwards, he will sign copies of his book for the public and GLAWS members.
Things have been moving pretty fast the last couple of weeks:
Next Wednesday, Nov. 26, I will be doing a major book signing at the Main Clear Creek PX on Fort Hood, Texas. They have ordered 100 books and are doing a fair amount of pre-event advertising in local newspapers, radio, and military publications.
On December 12, I will be doing signings at Fort Sam Houston and Randolph Air Force Base. On December 13, I will be at Lackland Air Force Base. All of these are in San Antonio, Texas. Also during the trip to San Antonio, I will be stopping at Book People in Austin to sign some books which they will give priority placement in the store for holiday shopping.
I had bookmarks made for these events.
Meanwhile, I’ve been in correspondence with Ray Bradbury to try to set up an event co-sponsored by GLAWS (Greater Los Angeles Writers Society) and a local Los Angeles library.
